Château de Villandry is the last of the large Loire castles erected in the Vale-de-Loire region during the Renaissance period. The remaining elegance of its architecture combined with the charms of its extraordinary gardens make it one of the jewels of the world heritage.

In the heart of the Touraine region, in a seductive environment where the white of the limestone (tuffeau) harmoniously blends with the ever-changing green of the river L’Indre, l’Islette opens its doors for you. La Loire à Vélo, is a vast tourist bicycle route with a length of 800 kilometers, a unique bike path in France. From one direction to the other, it connects Cuffy (close to Nevers) to Saint-Brevin-les-Pins (just across Saint-Nazaire). Imagine: it traverses the regions Centre- and Pays- de-la-Loire. Having noticed the increasing number of camping cars travelling across the vineyards in the south of France, the editor of a wine-growing magazine invented the concept of « Invitation formula ». He became aware of the difficulties for overnight parking in the country side. His idea was to propose to wine growers a formula for free parking in a private environment and thus permitting them to host camping car owners on their property the whole year round, for one night or 24 hours stay. That was in 1993….
